Reconstructive Kinesiology
Reconstructive Kinesiology (RK) is a muscle-based technique used for decreasing nagging aches and pains while increasing mobility. Haven’t heard of it?? That is because Dr. Scott is the innovator of this technique. RK provides balance and harmony to the structure of the human body which in turn allows the body to function at its highest capacity. This balance is done by evaluation of the muscular system. Muscles move bones; bones don’t move muscles. The previous ideal is the basis of proper kinesiology, study of human movement. RK evaluates both the structure and function of each individual on both the left and right sides. Imbalances in the musculature cause binding in the joints and thus an unsound structure which leads to decreased function and those aches and pains that hinder everyday life. Read More

Body Compostition Testing (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis)
Bio-electrical Impedance is the most complete body composition exam. The test involves electrodes being attached to your foot and hand. A very low current is sent through the body(can't be felt) from the hand to the foot. In mere seconds the test is over and the measures of reactance and resistance are gathered. These numbers are placed into a software program which then calculates the needed measures. The test takes little time and can tell so much about your overall health.
The exam measures body fat percent, lean mass percent, total body water, extra and intra cellular water, BMI, BMR, and phase angle.
Body fat percent is what most people are after. The number tells a person how much fat is contained in their body. The averages vary based on age.
Lean mass percent is often mistaken for how much muscle a person has. Lean mass takes into account all lean tissue; organs, skin and of course muscle. Basically everything except fat is placed in this category.
Total body water(TBW) is the amount of water that is in your body at the time of the test. The human body is basically 75% water. TBW an show whether that person is hydrated properly or not. The person not hyrdated properly will show to be fatter than if he/she is properly hydrated, thus proving if the information gathered during testing is valid.
Intra and Extra cellular water is also measured. They can be used to see if an individual is getting sick or has an imbalance in minerals. This shown by a drastic difference in the amount of water in the cell versus out.
BMI or body mass index is a measure of height and weight. The number is used by some insurance companies to gauge a person's health. The method is old and somewhat relative to the present physical condition of the individual.
BMR or basil metabloic rate is a calculation of the amount of calories needed to keep the human body alive if you were to merely sit and do nothing all day. Surprisingy most people don't eat enough food to allow the body to work efficiently which causes the lack of results in training.
Phase angle is a cutting edge measurement that shows how much viability the cells have. These ranges also vary with age. Phase angle can tell a seemingly healthy person about haow the cells are actually performing. The human body is a master at masking all the bad stuff until it is to late. Phase angle tells you how your cells are functioning so that corrections can be made and total health achieved.

Work Hardening
Three Rivers Health Solutions offers an advanced work hardening program. The exercises are created to mimic movements that are used when on the job. Core muscles are strengthened and body fat lost. Dr. Scott was raised in a farm community, once a member of the Laborers Local #477, and has assisted in building homes with his father. Having this background in various job aspects provides personal input into each client’s program. Everything from bailing hay to running a jack hammer, Dr. Scott has had experience putting in the work.
The main objective of the work hardening program is getting the core muscles strong and properly balanced. The number one reason work related injuries happen is due to lack of core strength. The person gets overextended and has to place stress on areas of the body that can’t handle the load. The second reason is a commonly missed issue; imbalanced muscles. Some people have muscles that are so tight they simply can’t stretch to accommodate the job. Other people have one side tighter than the other. Either way your body is set up for injury. Unfortunately most of us don’t realize this until it is too late. Three Rivers Health Solutions tests each of the major muscles in order to develop a training protocol based on areas of weakness and imbalance. Length of training depends of the severity of injury and state of fitness. During the training the client will receive tips on how to continue to keep the core muscles toned and balanced. The Client will also receive Reconstructive Kinesiology. This is the creation of Dr. Scott’s many years of training in various health and rehabilitation disciplines. RK involves perineuromuscular fascilitative stretching, gate analysis, muscular and postural evaluation, and electric stimulation. RK is a cutting edge technique that gets the whole body balanced and functioning at the highest rate possible.
